Expressing Motherhood is headed to Dubuque, Iowa for the first time this summer. Local Producer/Director Kerry Anderson will be bringing #ExMoShow to beautiful Iowa in July.
Kerry is a South Bay mom and ExMoShow alum, just about every summer she visits her sister and her family in Dubuque. “My children get to hang out with their cousins and experience a true midwestern summer complete with frog catching, fireflies, and porch eatin’ popsicle time.
Through Expressing Motherhood I’ve met many people with extraordinary stories who were brave enough to share it with an audience. After every show audience members would rush up to performers to tell them, “That’s my story!” or “Thank you, I needed to hear that story.” Expressing Motherhood is a gift and I want to bring that gift to one of my favorite places in the country, Dubuque.”

Karen Anderson Rothert
Kerry’s sister, Karen Anderson Rothert, and her family live in Dubuque. She will also be acting as a Local Producer along with Kerry. The show ill be performed at Karen’s alma mater, Loras College. This is the only way she could get her sister to extend her vacation time. She is excited to become an official member of the Expressing Motherhood community.
Submissions will be accepted April 10th- 14th, please send submissions to dubuque(at)expressingmotherhood.com For more submissions info please visit our submissions page.
Performers will be announced April 17th.
There will be one rehearsal on Friday, July 14th from 6:30-9:30PM. The performance will be Saturday, July 15th at 7:00PM at Loras College in the St. Joseph’s Auditorium in Hoffman Hall.
As always, Expressing Motherhood is looking for people to share their stories about motherhood on stage. Pieces need to be 5 minutes maximum. We are looking for true stories. Your stories, about motherhood. Need not be a mom!
Expressing Motherhood is thrilled to have Kerry and Karen bring this to Iowa. Looking forward to it. #ExMoShow
