We just wrapped up our rehearsal for the Silver Lake show.

Get ready.

September has been so hot here in LA. A lot of us our drained and the stories are edgy and full of emotion.

The house will open at 7PM. Showtimes are 7:30PM for both nights.

Valet parking is available directly underneath the theatre for $6 at the Barabella restaurant. You can eat there too.

Of course we will be selling wine and water at the show.

You exit the restaurant, head South and take a right up a very steep street. Look for the Spirit Studio signs. Enter the theatre through the parking lot.

See you at the theatre darling.

Expressing Motherhood San Francisco 2015

Expressing Motherhood was created in 2008 by two SAHM Lindsay Kavet and Jessica Cribbs.

Kavet will be bringing the show up North for one night only. It will consist of locals and some others who wanted to travel just to be a part of the show.

Outrageous mom/musical duo MommyTonk will perform.

The show has gone to lots of cities across the country but this is the first time the show will be going to San Francisco. The show consists of people sharing their stories about motherhood on stage.

It truly makes for a wonderful night out, mom, dad, friend, anyone.  We will be at the beautiful Brava Theatre.

Chicago Cast Member: Stacie Burrows

Stacie Burrows is a Los Angeles mom who loves and supports Expressing Motherhood so much she submitted to our Chicago show, we cast her and now she is flying herself out there to be a part of it. We love this groupie big time. Read about Stacie here:

Where do you live, how many kids do you have, ages?
Topanga Canyon, California, 2 boys: James & Charlie, ages 8 & 5
How are you creative post children? How has it changed since pre-baby?
Before I was a mother, I was a stand-up comic. Now that I have kids, I can’t get out to the comedy clubs as much so I write a humor column called Seriously Funny. I am also a contributor to Felicity Huffman’s website.

When do you find time to create?
When my kids are watching a movie or playing video games, I sneak off to my office and write. My youngest starts Kindergarten this year and I plan on doing a lot of my work while they are at school.
How did you hear about ExMo?
My oldest went to preschool with Lindsey Kavet’s son. I heard about the show and begged her to allow me to participate. Even though I brought a piece that was a little unconventional, they agreed to let me try it. It was a good risk! I can’t imagine not having an outlet like Expressing Motherhood. It saved my sanity.

Do you have a background in acting/writing?

Yes, I have a lot of experience with stand up comedy, musical theatre, improv and creative writing. I am the co-creator of “I’m Not From Here but My Kids Are; a comedic look at raising kids in Hollywood” with Shannon Noel Webb.

What creative projects are you up to?

I am currently working on an animation project as well as making more funny music with my comedy partner/mommy soulmate, Shannon Noel Webb.

Our First “Talk Back”

Expressing Motherhood will host it’s first ever “Talk Back” after our Mother’s Day performance.

Right after the show we will invite members of the audience to ask our cast questions.

Feel free to stay and find out more about the moms who have just bared their soul to you.   Most of the cast met yesterday for a lovely brunch and here is a photo of them. Get your ticket now!

Meet Stacie Burrows

Stacie Burrows has performed for Expressing Motherhood a lot.

Because she is just, a lot. We love her, so does the audience and she keeps coming up with great new material on her journey here in LA raising kids.

She writes at What the Flicka and Seriously Funny. Stacie will be in our next show here in LA and we can’t wait to share her with you.
