Expressing Motherhood is happy to kick the 2017 off with a new video series. The videos feature past performers sharing stories they have shared on the Expressing Motherhood stage, with you.
Filming the women in a studio has entailed that the pieces translate the best they can for the viewers at home. Thank you Emily DeRenzis and Megan Dolon for being the first two to participate. Emily shares her story of going over to her ex-husband’s new home for the first time.
Megan shares the story of when she first learned that her son has Aspergers.
Each piece is followed with a brief Q&A about how motherhood has inspired and/or changed their creative path. A huge thank you to them both.
Tickets are NOW ON SALE for our October 23rd 7PM show in Santa Monica at the Moss Theatre.
Tickets are $25. The beautiful theatre holds 350 seats, all of which were sold this past May. Don’t delay in getting your tickets. Come early and have a drink, beginning at 6PM, doors to the house open at 6:30 and the show begins promptly at 7PM.
If you have purchased tickets for the September show please call Brown Paper Tickets 1-800-838-3006 and cancel your ticket. If you have any problems please email me. lindsay(at)expressing motherhood.com
This lovely, warm space is more intimate so I’m guessing we are going to sell out quickly. I will let you know when tickets become available.
This is not ideal but if you have ever watched “Bullets Over Broadway” or worked in theatre as you know the show must go on despite, well it’s theatre darling.
Submissions for the next Expressing Motherhood will be accepted soon, Monday February 16th.
I am looking for pieces about motherhood, when read aloud, that are 5 minutes long.
The show will be one night only downtown at The Downtown Independent.
Looking forward to your submission.
Also, between now and February 28th if you tag a photo with #expressingmotherhood you’ll enter yourself into a pot of possibly winning 3 dozen cupcakes from Serendipity Cupcakes and an ExMo t-shirt.
Kristy Woelfel, owner of Serendipty Cupcakes, delivered cupcakes to the wonderful pediatric unit at Hungtington Hospital who recently took care of my son. She was so kind and loves what she does so I talked to her about doing a giveaway. She was up for it.
